Becky Shulman, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Becky Shulman has earned both Master’s (University of Chicago) and Bachelor’s (University of Wisconsin-Madison) degrees in Social Work.  During her years of schooling, Becky grew to appreciate the value of being fully present with others during times of pain and distress.  She came to believe that healing often begins not with solutions, but with feeling seen and accepted exactly as one is.  These lessons continue to guide Becky’s work as a therapist today.

Becky provides therapy to children, adolescents, and adults through the life span.  She works with individuals, couples, and families.  Leading with her innate skills in empathy and compassion, Becky supports her clients to identify new ways of relating to foster meaningful relationships and personal growth.

Becky specializes in LGBTQ+ affirming care, trauma-informed approaches, as well as  anxiety, depression, and self-esteem challenges.  While her clinical work is grounded in evidence-based practices, Becky also believes that people are more than a cluster of symptoms or a clinical diagnosis.  Becky values creating a space where clients can show up honestly, process at their own pace, and feel supported in their growth without pressure or judgment.

Becky’s perspective on therapy:

As a therapist, I believe that healing happens through connection.  Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity questions, or life transitions, you don’t have to go through it alone.  Therapy with me is a collaborative process rooted in trust, compassion, and curiosity as we explore your experience of life together.  I am here to offer a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported…just as you are.  Your stories, strengths, and values will pave the way for our work and your growth.

My motto as a clinical social worker has always been “Therapy isnt about feeling better, its about getting better at feeling.”  While I cant guarantee that your challenges will disappear forever, I can guarantee that the tools we identify and explore together will make challenging moments much more manageable.  If you’re ready to take that first step, I’d be honored to walk that with you.
