How can I get started in therapy?

We encourage you to call or email us.  At that time, we can learn what brings you to therapy, answer your preliminary questions, and schedule an initial consultation with you.  The initial consultation is a 50-minute appointment in which you will be able to share with your therapist the topics and concerns that bring you to therapy in greater detail.  Your therapist will provide you with ideas about the approach she would take in working with you and how she envisions the therapy process to look. If a mutual fit is determined between the two of you, subsequent therapy sessions will be scheduled at that time.

Do you provide telehealth services?

Yes, we continue to offer telehealth appointments. These sessions are conducted either via a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform or by phone and is based on client preference. While many insurance companies continue to reimburse for telehealth services, coverage can vary by plan. As a courtesy, our office will verify insurance benefits in advance, so insurance coverage is determined before the first appointment.

What can I expect from therapy?

Therapy can look different from person to person.  What brings you to therapy will influence the approach that your therapist takes, the type of goals that the two of you establish, and how often you meet.  It is common for therapy to occur on a weekly basis.  However, sometimes additional support is needed, especially for those experiencing a crisis or particularly challenging time.  Your therapist will be flexible in order to accommodate your needs, offering you the support you need when you need it most.

How long is each therapy session?

Each session lasts 50 minutes.

How much does therapy cost?  Is insurance accepted?

Fees vary by clinician and insurance coverage.  We accept Blue Cross-Blue Shield (PPO), Aetna (PPO) and Aetna Student Health insurance plans.  We also see clients who wish to pay privately or have other insurance plans.  In the latter case, a superbill is provided for clients to submit to their insurance plan for processing through their out-of-network benefits.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours in advance.  Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
